Angels pitcher Troy Scribner slips throwing pitch (Video)

Troy Scribner slips off mound

Los Angeles Angels rookie pitcher Troy Scribner slipped off the mound after delivering a pitch during his first major league start in Friday night's game against Oakland.

In the fifth inning with no outs and a man on first, Scribner's plant foot slipped while delivering the 1-1 pitch to A's batter Matt Joyce, causing him to stumble and fall to the ground.

Scribner finished the at-bat by walking Joyce, but that was the end of his night as he was taken out of the game. Both runners came around to score to give the A's a 5-2 lead. For the night, Scribner gave up five runs (two earned) on only two hits, but walked five batters.

Fortunately for Scribner, he did not take the loss as his Angels teammates rallied for a come-from-behind 8-6 victory over the A's.
