On Friday night in Pittsburgh, Penguins center Eric Tangradi and Montreal Canadiens defenseman Alexei Emelin collided against the glass behind the Montreal net, knocking a pane of glass loose. Unfortunately, the pane of glass fell in towards the ice, and NHL referee Kevin Pollock had to dive down on the ice to avoid being hit by the falling glass.
Fortunately, the referee was OK and the pane of glass did not shatter, which simplified the cleanup. Players on both teams, including Tangradi, checked on Pollock to make sure he was unharmed.
