Rickie Weeks loses track of outs in the field (Video)

Milwaukee Brewers second baseman Rickie Weeks had a bit of an embarrassing moment in the field when he lost track of the number of outs during Monday night's game against the San Francisco Giants.

In the top of the second inning, with one out and a Giants runners on first and second, Giants batter Brandon Crawford hit a grounder to Brewers shortstop Cesar Izturis that could have been a double play. The only problem was, after Izturis tossed the ball to Weeks at second base, Weeks started jogging towards the dugout, thinking that the force play was the third out and the inning was over. Instead, the Giants now had runners on first and third with two outs.

Brewers fans gave Weeks a round of boos, and deservedly so, as they didn't pay their hard-earned money on tickets to the game to watch Weeks make a Little League mistake. Fortunately, the next Giants batter, Melky Cabrera, grounded out to third to end the inning, so Weeks' mistake didn't cost the Brewers a run.

Hopefully this will be a reminder for Weeks to always keep track of the number of outs in the inning. Let that be today's lesson for the kids at home.
