Pirates fan barrels over kid chasing ground rule double (Video)

A Pittsburgh Pirates fan ran took out a kid by running right over the top of him while attempting to grab a ground rule double that bounced into stands during Thursday night's game at PNC Park.

It happened in the top of the third inning on a ball hit to deep left center field by Chicago Cubs batter Darnell McDonald. A kid had positioned himself perfectly to snag the ball as it bounced over the wall for a ground rule double, but an adult Pirates fan behind him was not going to be denied. The adult tried to leap over the kid while trying to get the ball, but lost his balance and fell down to the ground, taking the kid with him. Both fans appeared to be OK, although their arms appeared a little sore when they got up.

In the end, we don't know who got the baseball, but one thing for sure is that the adult Pirates fan didn't deserve it. If you're willing to take out a kid to get yourself a baseball, you need to get your priorities straight.
