Sonny Gray fields line drive that richochets off first base bag (Video)

Oakland A's pitcher Sonny Gray made the putout at first base on an unusual play during Sunday's game against Seattle by fielding a line drive that bounced off the first base bag.

It happened in the sixth inning with one out as Mariners batter Kyle Seager hit the line drive that looked like it would go for extra bases. However, the ball hit the corner of the first base bag and bounced straight up in the air into fair territory. Gray was in perfect position to catch the ball as it came down and make the out at first. After making the play, Gray was so off-balance that he accidentally ran into first base umpire Jim Reynolds, but still got the "out" call. Now there's something you don't see every day.

Gray made it through the sixth inning and earned the win as the A's beat the Mariners 6-3.
