St. John's center Chris Obekpa ejected for elbowing Butler player in head (Video)

St. John's Red Storm junior center Chris Obekpa was ejected in the first half of Tuesday night's game for elbowing Butler freshman Tyler Wideman in the head.

In the video, you can see in the lower right corner where Obekpa delivers the cheap shot to Wideman, then runs away while Wideman goes down in pain. After reviewing the play with video replay, referees gave Obekpa a Flagrant 2 foul, resulting in the automatic ejection.

This was Obekpa's second ejection of the season, and in our opinion, he deserves at least a one-game suspension for tonight's actions. Making matters worse, Wideman has a history of concussions, although he was given clearance to return to Tuesday's game after being fully examined by Butler's medical staff.

In the end, Butler blew out St. John's 85-62.

H/T Dr. Saturday.
