Richard Panik throws Brandon Pirri's stick over boards (Video)

Toronto Maple Leafs right winger Richard Panik tossed Florida Panthers forward Brandon Pirri's stick into the crowd during the third period of Thursday night's game in Toronto.

Pirri accidentally dropped his stick when he got tangled up with Panik on the defensive end, and Panik scooped it up with his own stick and tossed it high over the boards. No penalty was called at the time, but after an official review, Panik was given a 10-minute misconduct penalty for his unsportsmanlike move.

As for the stick, a young fan in the fifth row made a nice catch of the stick. Not sure what negotiations were made between Pirri and the fan, but according to the AP, the fan went home with the souvenir in the end.

Fortunately, Pirri had already done enough to earn the number 1 star of the game by scoring two goals with that stick as the Panthers beat the Maple Leafs 4-1.
