Mets turn unbelievable 1-3-1 putout vs Phillies (Video)

The New York Mets are on an incredible roll right now, and a play that perfectly captures it is the extremely rare 1-3-1 putout that they pulled off to end the 10th inning of Thursday night's game in Philadelphia.

Phillies batter Jeff Francoeur hit a comebacker towards Mets reliever Carlos Torres and the ball took a crazy bounce off his leg towards first. Mets first baseman Daniel Murphy dove to his right to stop the ball and made a backhand flip from his knees to to Torres, who hustled to the bag and just beat Franceour for the out.

Torres held the Phillies in check for two more innings and stayed in the game long enough to earn the win. The Mets exploded for four runs in the 13th inning to win 9-5 and extend their winning streak to seven games. They now hold a 6 1/2 game lead over Washington in the National League East.
