Max Scherzer records first stolen base of his career (Video)

Washington Nationals star pitcher Max Scherzer recorded the first stolen base of his career during Monday night's game against Atlanta.

It came in the 7th inning after Scherzer reached first with a leadoff single. On the 0-2 pitch to Nats batter Trea Turner, Scherzer got a good lead on Braves right-handed reliever Peter Moylan and took off. The pitch was outside, so there was no throw to second base, giving Scherzer the stolen base. The home crowd at Nationals Park gave Scherzer a standing ovation.

As if that wasn't enough, Scherzer recorded a complete game victory with 10 strikeouts as the Nationals beat the Braves 2-0.
