Torey Krug crushes Robert Thomas with monster body check

Torey Krug obliterates Robert Thomas

Boston Bruins defenseman Torey Krug obliterated St. Louis Blues center Robert Thomas during Monday night's Game 1 of the NHL Stanley Cup Finals.

It happened about halfway through the third period with the Bruins holding a 3-2 lead. Krug was taken down from behind by Blues left winger David Perron in front of the Bruins net. Perron stayed on top of Krug and peeled off hjis helmet while keeping him tangled up, and the officials let the players continue to scrum while play continued to the other end of the ice. Eventually Perron skated away, but Krug was clearly angry and sped down the ice looking for someone to take it out on. As Thomas approached the puck in the Blues zone, he saw the helmetless Krug coming at him and braced for impact.

After all that, not a single penalty was called on the play, but Krug certainly got the crowd fired up.
