Detroit Red Wings defenseman Mike Green was knocked head over heels into the Washington Capitals bench during Saturday night's game at the Little Caesars Arena.
It happened late in the third period with the Capitals holding a 3-2 lead. Green was along the boards passing the puck to a Red Wings teammate when Caps right winger Garnet Hathaway drilled him into the boards, flipping him right into the Capitals bench.
Since Green is a former Capital, his former teammates appeared to get a good laugh out of it as he struggled to get back onto the ice.
Green had an assist in the game, but Alex Ovechkin scored two goals in the final two minutes to complete a hat trick as the Capitals beat the Red Wings 5-2.
