Dylan Bundy vomits on mound, leaves game vs. Yankees

Dylan Bundy vomits on mound, Angels vs Yankees, 6/28/2021

Los Angeles Angels starter Dylan Bundy left Monday night's game early against the New York Yankees due to heat exhaustion, which was readily apparent after he vomited on the mound.

It happened in the bottom of the second inning with two outs and a runner on second base and the score tied at 2-2. Bundy had thrown 43 pitches in 90-degree heat and high humidity as he was preparing to face Yankees batter DJ LeMahieu. Bundy's cap was pouring with sweat as he took a few steps behind the rubber, hunched over and lost his lunch. An Angels trainer quickly came out to tend to Bundy, with manager Joe Maddon following close behind. It was obvious that Bundy could not continue, so the Angels wasted no time in removing him from the game and getting him some treatment. Bundy was replaced by Jose Suarez, who got LeMahieu to ground out to end the inning.

Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant had a front row seat to see it all unfold:
We genuinely hope Bundy is OK, as that was tough to watch.
