Bates began his incredible run with about 13:15 remaining in the first half with Toledo holding a 14-6 lead. Bates hit four consecutive 3-pointers to give Eastern Michigan an 18-17 lead, then hit a jumper, two more 3-pointers, a layup, a dunk, another three, and two free throws. Bates played all 40 minutes of the game and finished with career highs of 43 points, 15 field goals and 9 three-pointers. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough as the Eagles fell to Toledo by the score of 84-79. [AP via ESPN]
