Emoni Bates scores 29 straight points for Eastern Michigan vs. Toledo (Video)

Eastern Michigan Eagles sophomore guard Emoni Bates put on an incredible show by scoring 29 straight points in the first half during Tuesday night's Mid-American Conference men's basketball game against Toledo.

Bates began his incredible run with about 13:15 remaining in the first half with Toledo holding a 14-6 lead. Bates hit four consecutive 3-pointers to give Eastern Michigan an 18-17 lead, then hit a jumper, two more 3-pointers, a layup, a dunk, another three, and two free throws. By the time he was done, he had rallied the Eagles to a 35-29 lead. Here is some video from that amazing run:

You don't see individual performances like this every day. This is a guy to keep an eye on.

Bates played all 40 minutes of the game and finished with career highs of 43 points, 15 field goals and 9 three-pointers. Unfortunately, his efforts were not enough as the Eagles fell to Toledo by the score of 84-79. [AP via ESPN]
