Stephen Curry ejected for tossing mouth guard vs. Grizzlies (Video)

Stephen Curry pleads with official after ejection, Grizzlies vs. Warriors, 1/25/2023
Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry was ejected in the final moments of Wednesday night's NBA game against Western Conference rival Memphis Grizzlies for throwing his mouth guard.

It happened with 1:14 left in the fourth quarter as the Warriors held a 116-114 lead. Warriors guard Jordan Poole had just missed a 30-foot jumper, and as Curry ran back on defense, he took his mouth guard out of his mouth and threw it in frustration. For some reason, the officials deemed this a violation serious enough to eject Curry from the game.

Curry pleaded his case to the officials, but to no avail. Seems a bit excessive for the officials to be ejecting Curry for this, especially at such a critical moment in the game.

Fortunately, the Warriors were able to hold on for a 122-120 victory as Poole hit the game-winning layup with 2.1 seconds left. Curry still finished the game as the leading scorer with 34 points.
