XFL RB Brian Hill celebrates TD with "People's Elbow" (Video/GIF)

Brian Hill celebrates touchdown with Peoples Elbow, Battlehawks vs. Defenders, 3/5/2023
St. Louis Battlehawks running back Brian Hill celebrated a touchdown by borrowing "The People's Elbow" from wrestling superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson during Sunday's XFL game against the DC Defenders.

It happened with under six minutes remaining in the first quarter after the Battlehawks fell behind 14-0. After driving down to the 8-yard line, Hill capped off the scoring drive with a touchdown pass from quarterback A.J. McCarron. Hill snuck his way out of the backfield and found himself wide open in the flat, leading to the easy catch and score.

After reaching the end zone, Hill celebrated by pretending to bounce off some invisible ropes as if in the confines of a wrestling ring before throwing down the elbow on the ground.

Given that Johnson is one of the co-owners of the XFL, we're sure that he will appreciate this tribute. Well done, Brian.

NFL players do their best to deliver creative touchdown celebrations, but there are limits to how far they can go without being called for unsportsmanlike conduct, hence why the NFL sometimes being called the "No Fun League". The XFL wants to build a fan base and ratings, so they would be smart to allow their players to have a little fun.
