Goose on field interrupts minor league baseball game (Video)

Goose chased by grounds crew, Brooklyn Cyclones vs. Hudson Valley Renegades, 5/18/2023
In High-A minor league baseball action, a goose found its way onto the field and caused some havoc during Thursday's game between the Hudson Valley Renegades and visiting Brooklyn Cyclones.

It happened in the top of the first inning as the Cyclones had runners on first and second with nobody out. The goose found its way onto the grass in right-center field and calmly strolled around. Renegades right fielder Aldenis Sanchez chased the goose towards the right field corner.

The game was able to resume as Cyclones batter Alex Ramirez hit a double to take a 1-0 lead. However, the goose remained on the field and began to slowly creep towards second base.

Once the top of the first inning ended, a group of grounds crew employees were sent to get the goose off the field. That is when the real havoc ensued, as this turned into a literal goose chase.

The goose proved itself to be a worthy adversary, showing a shifty ability to change direction while using its wings for an extra burst of speed. It even managed to walk right through the legs of one grounds crew member who seemed too afraid to pick it up.

Eventually, the goose seemed to get tired as it finally sat down, allowing one of the grounds crew members to pick it up. The grounds crew opened up a door in the outfield wall and carried the goose out of the stadium. The Cyclones went on to win the game 6-1.

Of course, we have seen plenty of animals interrupt sporting events over the years. Surprisingly, however, this is not the first time we have seen a goose interrupt a sporting event, as we once saw Tiger Woods hit a goose with a tee shot in a tournament. Once an animal gets onto the field, you can never predict what is going to happen.
