San Diego Padres right fielder Fernando Tatis Jr. found himself looking silly after flipping his bat on a flyout during Thursday's game in San Francisco.
It happened in the top of the eighth inning with one out and a runner on second base with the Giants leading 3-2. On the 2-1 pitch, Tatis hit a ball to deep center field and thought he got all of it, so he flipped his bat as he jogged towards first. However, not only did center fielder Jung Hoo Lee catch up with it on the warning track, but he caught the ball in front of the outfield wall with a few feet to spare.

Tatis was in disbelief as he stared towards the outfield wondering how the ball he hit did not leave the park. This wouldn't be the first time Tatis misread a situation, as he once walked towards first base on ball three.
It was a tough day for Tatis at the plate as he went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. In the end, the Giants won the game 3-2 to split the four-game series.
