Texas Rangers right fielder Adolis Garcia waited until the ball he hit landed in the outfield stands before trotting around the bases on his game-tying home run during Monday night's game against Baltimore.
Garcia came up in the bottom of the tenth inning with one out and runners on first and third with the Orioles holding a 6-3 lead. On the 3-2 pitch, Garcia hit a 92 mph fastball to deep left field that bounced off the facade of the second deck in the outfield which tied the game at 6-6. As the ball was in the air, Garcia was flexing in the batter's box and pumping up his Rangers teammates in the dugout across the way. Only when the ball landed in the left field stands did Garcia begin jogging around the bases.

Over the years, we have seen some over-the-top home run celebrations, usually involving crazy bat flips. This is the other end of the spectrum, where runners either delay their home run trot or jog really slowly around the basepaths. Either way, we are not big fans of this.
Unfortunately, Garcia's home run was all for naught as the Orioles responded with four runs in the top of the 11th to come away with the 10-6 victory. It's almost as if karma came back to bite Garcia and the Rangers.
