Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders made a rookie mistake by taking a sack for a 22 yard loss during Saturday's NFL preseason finale against the Los Angeles Rams.
It happened with 13:21 remaining in the fourth quarter with the Browns leading 16-10. After taking a sack for a 2 yard loss, Sanders and the Browns had 2nd and 12 on their own 46-yard line. Sanders took the shotgun snap and dropped back to pass, but was pressured by Rams linebacker Josh Pearcy, who beat Browns offensive lineman Kilian Zierer on the block. Pearcy forced Sanders back to the 30, but instead of throwing it away, Sanders tried to make something happen and scrambled back to the 23-yard line. That was a huge error on his part, as Rams linebacker Brennan Jackson caught up to him and took him down on the 24-yard line.

Sanders is the son of NFL Hall of Famer (and current University of Colorado head football coach) Deion Sanders, who played for the Falcons, Cowboys, Steelers, Redskins and Ravens over a 14-year career. Unfortunately, Shedeur will likely be starting his NFL career on the bench, and plays like this will not help him.
It was no surprise that the Browns ended up punting on that drive. Sanders finished 3-for-6 for 14 yards passing. However, the Browns won the game 19-17.
