Keith Olbermann: "Close the Hall of Fame and start over" (Video)

On Wednesday evening, ESPN's Keith Olbermann targeted the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA) for what he considers to be a broken voting system for electing players to the Baseball Hall of Fame.

According to Olbermann, players being excluded for suspected steroid use in recent years (most notably Mike Piazza in the most recent balloting) are "the lucky ones" because know why they're not getting in. Olbermann rattled off a long list of players who don't have a clue why they're not in the Hall of Fame, which not only included recent exclusions such as Curt Schilling and Tim Raines, but also Gil Hodges, who had an outstanding career as a first baseman in the 1950s and then managed the 1969 New York Mets to the World Series.

Unfortunately, Olbermann's plan to "close the damn Hall of Fame and start over" will never happen in real life, so we'll probably be having this debate for many more years. What will it take to have this system changed?
