John Calipari ejected less than three minutes into game vs South Carolina (Video)

John Calipari restrained

John Calipari was ejected from Saturday's Kentucky men's basketball game at South Carolina after picking up a double technical foul less than three minutes into the game.

The incident occured during a stoppage of play with 17:34 remaining in the first half, and was extremely odd considering Kentucky was about to inbound the ball after South Carolina committed an offensive foul.

Calipari had to be restrained by his players and assistant coaches, but it was too little, too late. He obviously said something that upset referee Doug Sirmons, but was it a matter of Calipari stepping over the line, or Sirmons having a short fuse?

In the end, the Wildcats did just fine without Calipari as they blew out South Carolina 89-62.

Ironically, Calipari was ejected two years ago during a loss to South Carolina, although that came halfway into the second half.
