John Beilein ejected as Penn State upsets Michigan

Michigan Wolverines men's basketball coach John Beilein was ejected from Tuesday night's Big Ten Conference matchup at Penn State.

It happened just after Penn State hit a buzzer beater to end the first half, giving the Nittany Lions a 40-27 lead. Beilein was clearly upset and had some words for the referee, who apparently did not appreciate the way Beilein expressed his frustration and gave him two quick technical fouls.

There seemed to be no dispute as to whether the shot went off before the buzzer. Beilein was might have been upset about one of his players getting knocked down on a screen on that final play of the half.

Based on our view of the video, even though the player went down hard, it appeared to be a clean screen.

The technicals on Beilein gave Penn State four foul shots to start the second half, of which they made three. Michigan tried to rally without Beilein on the sidelines, but couldn't pull it out as Penn State beat the No. 6 Wolverines 75-69. This was a huge deal for the Penn State fans, who stormed the court after the upset.
