Squirrel interrupts Twins-White Sox game for second straight night

Squirrel at Target Field 8/20/2019

A scampering squirrel interrupted Tuesday night's Minnesota Twins game against the Chicago White Sox, marking the second consecutive night that he has appeared.

It happened in the bottom of the fifth inning as Twins batter Jorge Polanco was up with two outs and runners at first and third with the game tied at three apiece. White Sox pitcher Reynaldo Lopez was in the middle of his windup when the home plate umpire called time. Twins runner Max Kepler was leading off first base as the squirrel ran right through his legs and continued across the field and into the White Sox dugout.

The squirrel then ran along the wall of the third base side and ended up in left field, probably looking for a way out.

The Twins may want to keep the squirrel around, as they went on to score four runs in the inning on the way to a 14-4 pounding of the White Sox.

This all came after the squirrel ran behind home plate and into the Twins dugout on Monday night, scaring Miguel Sano half to death.
