Trevor Bauer's 11 strikeouts earn pizza for Reds fans

Trevor Bauer 8/19/2019

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer struck out 11 batters during Monday night's start against San Diego, and the hometown fans at Great American Ball Park earned free pizza thanks to his performance.

Bauer already had 10 Ks heading into the 7th inning, and the hometown Reds fans began chanting "Pizza! Pizza!" as he worked to a 1-2 count against Padres batter Wil Myers. When Bauer got Myers to swing and miss for strike three, the fans were very excited.

Although Bauer earned the fans free pizza with the 11 Ks, the Reds couldn't put together enough run support to earn the win for Bauer, as the Reds lost to the Padres 3-2. However, after getting the free pizza, Reds fans will probably say that the trade with the Indians to get Bauer was worth it.
