Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Luke Witkowski smashed New York Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield into the boards during Friday night's game at the Barclays Center.
It happened in the third period with the Islanders holding a 2-1 lead. Mayfield tried to clear the puck from the corner of the Islanders zone, but knocked the puck over the glass as Witkowski came over and knocked him clear off his feet.
To add insult to injury, Mayfield was sent to the penalty box for delay of game. However, he got up right away and seemed to be fine.
Witkowski finished the game with five hits. However, Mayfield got the last laugh as he finished with seven hits and the Islanders beat the Lightning 5-2.
