March Madness 2020: 'One Shining Moment' Quarantine Edition

Brandon Gaudin March Madness 2020 Quarantine Edition

If life was normal, the 2020 NCAA men's basketball national championship would have been played tonight. One lucky team would have their "One Shining Moment". Unfortunately, due to the coronavirus spreading worldwide, the tournament was cancelled, along with the women's tournament and most professional and college sports.

It's disappointing that we won't get to see that postgame "One Shining Moment" video that follows the national championship game, but thanks to the brilliant mind of Brandon Gaudin, we can get a sampling of what it might have been like...and have a few laughs in the process.

Gaudin is a play-by-play broadcaster who (according to his LinkedIn profile) currently works for FOX Sports and provides voiceover talent for the EA Madden NFL video games. Gaudin has managed to capture all of the magic of March Madness in his "Quarantine Edition" of "One Shining Moment", where he enacts every scene himself.

It's all here. The mascots. The fans. The cheerleaders. The band. The coaches and their motivational speeches. The slam dunks. The long-range jumpers. The hustle plays. The upsets. The close calls. The locker room celebrations.

Of course, it's all played out on a low budget with a Little Tikes basket, but it represents the tournament pretty well. Gaudin's college T-shirt collection is impressive. His Final Four featured Kansas, Michigan State, Dayton and Florida State. It could have happened. We'll never know, and that's too bad.
