SNL Classic: 'Happy Fun Ball'

One of our time favorite SNL parody commercials is "Happy Fun Ball". This originally aired back in 1991, featuring Dana Carvey, Mike Myers, Jan Hooks, and the voice of the late Phil Hartman.

The premise: Happy Fun Ball looks like your typical ball that you throw around and have fun with, until you read the "fine print" describing side effects such as:

  • Happy Fun Ball may suddenly accelerate to dangerous speeds.
  • Happy Fun Ball contains a liquid core, which, if exposed due to rupture, should not be touched, inhaled, or looked at.
  • Do not use Happy Fun Ball on concrete.
  • If Happy Fun Ball begins to smoke, seek shelter immediately.  Seek shelter and cover head.
  • Happy Fun Ball may stick to certain types of skin.
  • Ingredients of Happy Fun Ball include an unknown glowing substance which fell to Earth, presumably from outer space.
  • Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball.

The phrase "Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball" is still our favorite after all these years.
