Dejounte Murray bumps referee after Game 4 loss to Celtics (Video)

Dejounte Murray bumps referee, Celtics vs. Hawks, 4/23/2023
Dejounte Murray purposely bumped a referee as he walked off the floor in the final moments of the Atlanta Hawks' Game 4 loss to the Boston Celtics in their NBA Eastern Conference first round series.

The Celtics beat the Hawks 129-121 to take a decisive 3-1 lead in the series. Murray finished the game with 23 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists, an overall solid performance. However, he was apparently upset by something involving the officiating of the game, as Murray expressed himself by approaching referee Gediminas Petraitis as the game clocked reached zero and bumping him from the side as he walked off the court.

According to ESPN, the NBA is investigating the incident. We fully expect that Murray will be suspended for Game 5, as league rules strictly prohibit any contact with officials. In other sports, athletes may get away with bumping officials, but that seems unlikely this time.
