Kansas City Royals designated hitter Miakel Garcia hit a double despite being stung by a bee during an at-bat in Monday night's game against Atlanta.
It happened in the bottom of the third inning with one out and nobody on as the game was tied at 2-2. After taking a pitch high to make the count 2-1, Garcia took a step out of the batter's box and was preparing for his next pitch when he grabbed at his right shoulder as if something stung him. A close-up replay shows a very large bee flying near his ear right beforehand.
To his credit, Garcia hit the 3-1 pitch right up the middle for a hit and turned it into a double with his hustle.

We have seen strange incidents over the years involving swarms of bees, but have never seen an MLB player being stung, especially during their at-bat.
Garcia had a solid game from the plate, going 3-for-4 with two doubles and 2 RBI, but it wasn't enough as the Braves beat the Royals 10-7.
