Grayson Murray throws putter, bends iron during US Open final round

Grayson Murray bends iron after 9th hole, US Open final round, 6/19/2022

American pro golfer Grayson Murray lost his cool with two meltdowns during his tough day Sunday in the final round of the US Open tournament.

After going even par through six holes, Murray struggled on the 7th with a quadruple bogey, leading him to throw his putter in disgust.

Then, after a triple bogey on the 9th, Murray tried to snap an iron over his knee. He failed to break it in half, but did manage to render the iron unusable by bending it at a nearly 90 degree angle.

It was that kind of day for Murray, who finished at 10-over for the day and 18-over for the tournament, putting him near the bottom of the leaderboard in 63rd place. However, this was the first time in his career that he made the cut at the US Open, while stars such as Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia failed to make the cut. Hopefully Murray can look back on this as something to build on.
