Golden State Warriors shooting guard Buddy Hield caused a delay in Tuesday night's playoff game in Minnesota because he realized he was wearing the wrong shorts.
It happened in the first minute of Game 1 of their NBA Western Conference semifinal playoff series with the game tied at 2-2. It's not clear when he realized he was wearing different shorts than his teammates. After missing a jump shot which was rebounded by teammate Jimmy Butler, Hield went to the referee asking for a timeout, and while everyone looked confused as to what was going on, Hield ran to the locker room to change.

Not sure how this is even possible, as the equipment manager is usually responsible for laying out the uniforms for the players to wear in the locker room prior to the game. In one sense, it doesn't seem like a big deal, but on the other hand, this lack of attention to detail by someone in the Warriors organization, whether it be the equipment manager or Hield himself, is a bit concerning.
As bad as it was, it could have been worse. At least he wasn't wearing the wrong jersey.
Hield didn't let the uniform fiasco throw him off his game, as he went on to lead the Warriors with 24 points and added 8 rebounds as the Warriors beat the Timberwolves 99-88 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.
