Chicago White Sox second baseman Chase Meidroth had a horrific night as a routine popup bounced off his head in the ninth inning, opening the door for a come-from-behind walk-off win for Kansas City.
The White Sox led 3-2 in the bottom of the ninth inning. After reliever Cam Booser gave up a leadoff walk, Royals batter Drew Waters hit what appeared to be a routine popup to second base. Meidroth appeared to be under it, but either lost it in the lights or the wind changed the direction of it, as the ball bounced right off his head and into right field.

We have seen the White Sox have issues with popups in the past. However, this year we have seen lots of teams have issues fielding popups.
The Royals followed up with a bunt single to load the bases, an infield single to tie the game, and a walk-off single by Bobby Witt Jr. to steal the 4-3 win. This one goes down as another painful loss for the White Sox.
