Heliot Ramos misplays fly ball, allows Cubs to score run (Video)

San Francisco Giants left fielder Heliot Ramos misplayed a fly ball, allowing the Chicago Cubs to score during Wednesday afternoon's MLB game at Wrigley Field.

It happened in the bottom of the fourth inning with two outs and a Cubs runner on second base as the Giants led 3-0. Cubs batter Pete Crow-Armstrong hit what appeared to be a routine fly ball to left field. When it was first hit, Ramos appeared to be waiting for the ball to come right to him. However, he apparently lost it in the sun as he began charging in to get it. Ultimately, he was unable to backhand the ball as it dropped and bounced past him.

Crow-Armstrong reached second and was credited with a double (although it should have been an error for Ramos). The runner on second came around to score to get the Cubs on the board.

A lot of fielders have been misplaying fly balls recently. Regardless of whether they lost the ball in the sun or had a lack of communication with a teammate, it is strange to see this happen so frequently in MLB.

Flores made up for his outfield blunder by going 3-for-4 at the plate with an RBI and scoring a run as the Giants beat the Cubs 3-1.
