UPenn CF Ryan Taylor misreads fly ball, gives Texas A&M walk-off win (Video)

Ryan Taylor misplays fly ball, UPenn vs. Texas A&M, 2/20/2026

University of Pennsylvania Quakers center fielder Ryan Taylor misjudged a fly ball in the ninth inning of a scoreless tie game against Texas A&M Friday night, handing the Aggies a 1-0 walk-off win.

It happened in the bottom of the ninth inning with one out and a Texas A&M runner on second base. Aggies batter Boston Kellner hit a high fly ball to center field. Taylor initially broke in on the ball, then scrambled back to chase it. Unfortunately, it was too late as the ball landed behind him. Aggies runner Sawyer Farr scored easily from second base as Texas A&M celebrated the victory.

It's unclear what caused Taylor to misread the fly ball. However, we hope he is not too hard on himself. After all, we have seen plenty of MLB outfielders misplay fly balls just last year, including superstars Aaron Judge and Juan Soto.

The game was UPenn's season opener, which may partially explain Taylor's misplay. Meanwhile, the Aggies improved their record to 5-0.
