Ohio HS band director ejected for berating referees before football game

Ohio HS band director ejected, Union Local vs. Buckeye Local, 8/26/2022
In Ohio high school football news, a band director was ejected from the stadium by game officials after an argument prior to Friday night's Union Local game against Buckeye Local.

It happened as the Union Local HS band was performing their pregame routine. It is unclear what violation the band director committed, but video captures the moment when an offical gives the signal for unsportsmanlike conduct. At that point, point the band director begins chewing out the official while the band plays on. The referee did not appreciate being chewed out, as moments later, he gave the signal indicating that the band director was being ejected.

Not sure how the football coaching staff reacted to being notified that they were being penalized due to the actions of the band director. That conversation, along with the follow-ups between the coaches and band director directly, must have been pretty interesting.

Fortunately, the penalty did not seem to have any impact on Union Local, as they went on to beat Buckeye Local 45-7.
