Vlad Guerrero Jr. flips glove to first for out vs. Brewers (Video)

Vlad Guerrero Jr. tosses glove to first base, Brewers vs. Blue Jays, 5/31/2023
Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vlad Guerrero Jr. made an improvisational play for an out during Wednesday night's game against Milwaukee as he tossed his glove to first base with the ball in it.

It happened in the top of the fifth with nobody on and nobody out as the Brewers held a 2-0 lead. Brewers batter Christian Yelich hit an easy grounder to Guerrero at first. While Blue Jays pitcher Trevor Richards ran over to cover first base, Guerrero found himself having trouble getting the ball out of his glove. Rather than risk an error, Guerrero tossed his glove to Richards, who caught it and stepped on the bag for the out.

This is not the first time we have seen an MLB player toss their glove to first for the out. This tends to happen every once in a while. Heads up on Guerrero for quick thinking and finding a way to work around the problem.

Unfortunately, that would be the highlight of the night for Guerrero, who went 0-for-4 from the plate, as the Blue Jays lost to the Brewers 4-2.
